The Files Category allows you to search for various types of files that are stored on your PC and network shares. Enterprise Super Search provides users an intuitive interface & fast results making document searches across network shares a snap.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Common File formats entirely searchable by content, title, and document properties are:

  Adobe Acrobat Document (.pdf) - including Scanned Text Searchable PDFs

  Microsoft Word Document (.doc, .docx)

  Microsoft Excel Worksheet (.xls, .xlsx)

  Microsoft Outlook Message (.msg)

  Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation (.ppt, .pptx)

  Rich Text Format (.rtf)

  Text Document (.txt)

  WordPerfect File (.wp)

  OpenOffice files (.odt,.ott,.odm,.oth,.ods,.ots,.odp,.otp, .sxw,.stw,.sxc,.stc,.sxi,.sti)

  HTML Document (.htm)




The following text file formats can also be fully indexed by default: .ASP, .C, .CPP, .CS, .CSV, .H, .INC, .INI, .JAVA, .PAS, .XML and .XSL.

Performing Basic Searches
The Search for section lets you enter a query in a search box and refine it using various available search fields. Type the query terms in the keyword box, or click the down arrow and choose terms in the search history. Use search operators, such as Boolean operators, parentheses and quotation marks to refine your query. Click the search button or hit the Enter key (not required).
